Upcoming features
Things we might add to Quorix. These are ideas, not promises - nothing here has a date, and the order can change. What already exists is on the Features page, and what has just shipped is on the Changelog.
To be added next
This is the live list of what has been asked for and is not finished yet. It is updated whenever a new feature is requested, and anything you vote for on the Vote page moves up it.
- Encrypted connection between the app and the game server - today it is not encrypted, so passwords should not be reused elsewhere.
- Dominion map extras - the map is now a real continent; next ideas are fog of war, ports across the sea and seasons.
- A fresh look for the desktop app - the website has been redesigned; the app itself has not.
- Smaller Windows download - the Windows app carries its own Java, which is most of its size. Options are the 2 MB Java file for people who already have Java, or a tiny starter that fetches Java the first time.
- Fight Arena rankings per mode (1v1, 2v2, 3v3, free-for-all) - today it has one combined ranking.
- Rankings for more games - today 19 games have a rating and 4 have a score board.
- Always-on server and web service - sign-in, leaderboards, live stats, the Dominion map and voting need the game server and a small web service running on a machine that stays on.
- A safer code pass over the whole game code - speed-ups and tidying that do not change behaviour.
Around the app
- A better Home page - pick up where you left off, jump into a quick game, see which friends are online, your daily reward and quest progress, and what's new, all in one place.
- Stats inside your Profile - a full page of your plays, wins and ratings for every game.
- A tidier sidebar - grouped, scrollable, and easier to find things in as Quorix grows.
- A refreshed logo.
Playing together
- Rejoining the group games - reconnecting after a dropped connection already works in the two-player games; getting back into a party game like Among Us or Racing is a different problem we want to look at.
- Chat in more games - match chat is in 14 online games and Telephone; more of them could have it.
- More on the Forums - editing your own posts, votes, images and notifications.
New things to play
- Quorix: Dominion - a persistent nation game about diplomacy, trade and war, checked in on a little each day rather than played in one sitting.
- More original games, including more real-time and party games.
Servers
- Always-on hosting - the server is meant to move to a machine that stays on, so players can reach it from anywhere without being on the same network as the owner.
